Anxiety is nothing new. In some form or another it has always been a part of human life. However, when anxiety becomes out of control then it can cause many problems to people. The effects of anxiety can be felt anywhere whether, it be at home or at work. It can harm relationships and make people so ill that they have to take time off work. Anxiety can also limit people's outlook and confidence in living life to the full.

It is quite easy to identify people who are anxious as you will probably hear them say the following things:I find it very difficult to describe these feelings I have. It feels like an unbelievable darkness and dread. It makes me want cry out but I am so paralysed with fear I am unable to.

I have these panic attacks that creates a tension in my chest. When this happens it is like I am being suffocated. I begin to perspire and shake to the point that I feel that I am going to collapse.

I want to have friends but I feel that I am not worthy enough. I fear people not liking me and that they might reject me. I am very shy around people and public places but I don't want to feel alone in this world. I would love to have lots of friends but I find it so difficult to make long lasting and meaningful relationships.

A day never goes by that I do not feel that I am not worried about something or another. I have got so much to do and time always seems to be running out. Some days I just cannot cope and just want to crawl up in bed and go to sleep and forget everything.
