Holiday greeting cards are a really great way to keep in touch with your customers and strengthen the bond between you and them
. A simple holiday greeting with a nice holiday design can go a long way in making customers think better of your brand. While sending a promotion free holiday card can still have a great impact there is no reason you cant include some sort of sale or offer.
You just need to keep it personal feeling and have it relate to the holidays. Something such as "our gift to you: $5 off any purchase over $20 or more" for the holidays could work really well. Just make sure your actual greeting such as " happy holidays from your company..." is the dominant part of the card and let the promotion be the bonus.
You also need to keep in mind that all your customers believe in different religions and celebrate different holidays. So sending out Christmas cards to people who do not celebrate it could be offending and hurt you more than help. If you know your demographic well, it can help you to figure out what type of cards to send to who.
In general it is better to send out generic "happy holidays" cards instead of pin pointing a specific religious holiday. You could even base the greeting cards on the seasons such as "winter's greetings" or "spring greetings:.
Either way, a holiday card can be a nice change of pace from traditional "in your face" direct mail campaigns. They are more personal, cheerful and can still push a specific promotion or offer. Combining holiday cheer with a great design and a powerful message and promotion can really make for a successful holiday marketing campaign.
