How We Are Percieved In Life Has Nothing To Do With Reality
Living on this earth for 58 years now I like to think I've learned a few things as I made my journey. One of the things I've learned is that things are what we perceive them to be, may not actually be. I've had many different jobs in my life, and a part of it was a salesman for a car dealership. I noticed that two people could come into the dealership looking for the same car but leave paying two different amounts for the same car. One leaving paying six-hundred dollars more, but both thinking they received the best deal possible, Why? Perception. I also noticed that fifty people could walk through the dealership on any given day, all would be treated the same way, but a handful would complain that they were not treated properly. Why? Perception.
Right now we have a president who a lot of people think is a socialist trying to grow government so that it can take over every facet of our lives. While there are others who believe he is a saint who can do no wrong, and is taking this country down the right path. Why? Perception. What his true intentions are is not important. People are going to think what they truly believe to be true. And little can be done to change their minds.
I now try to help people get back on their feet, or help them earn extra income for what ever reason. One of the people I am helping is a retired woman living on social security. All she wanted to do is earn an extra 3-4 hundred dollars a month so she can afford to take her grandchildren places and buy them all kinds of goodies. She reached that goal. Is she a success? She thinks she is, and so do I. But there are people who don't think she is. How can earning $400 a month make some one a success they wouldsay? Perception.
Take a look in the mirror, As you went through life I am sure there were people that thought you were a great person, while others thought you were a jerk. Why? Perception. Are you a success? If you think you are then that's all that matters. There will always be people that think you are not what you truly are. So my point here is to strive to be what you want to be, not what others think you should be. Please yourself, because that's all that really matters. Not what others perceive you to be.
Remember what William Shakespeare said. "There is nothing thatseitherright or wrong, but thinking makes it so"
