Ignoring Relationship Advice

No matter how hard you try some people, even if they are regularly seeking it out

, will never actually take your relationship advice. People seem to just fall into consistent dating patterns that are often rather unhealthy. It is as if you are watching a slow motion car wreck almost every time you see one of your friends begin a new relationship. The new mate shows clear signs of being just as mentally unstable or sadistically controlling as an old flame and they seem to smile and walk right into the mouth of the beast. You wonder were this person more social with a wider variety of people if perhaps they might find someone more suitable for themselves. Then you see them branch out after a crazy relationship and a period of mourning and they end up right back in the same position again, screaming in their underwear, locked out of their own apartment crying.

You can not teach crazy people how to be social and you can't make social people work well with crazy people. The combination of different people is hard to predict and seemingly impossible to control but it is hard to understand why so many people have such a hard time learning from mistakes. The old adage that "The heart wants what it wants" it would seem is an unavoidable truth in love and life.

Recently a friend was fishing me for advice online. We chatted over instant message and she was at the moment very upset about breaking up with her boyfriend, a boyfriend I and everyone we knew was certain was crazy. She seemed resolved after an extensive back and forth to not make the same mistakes and to make wiser choices for her. She was getting older she seemed to say and this business was not going to fly with her anymore. That very same night she and the crazy boyfriend were back to their old tricks canoodling, fighting and crying.

This I suppose is a pattern of life. I myself am no stranger to repeated mistakes in love and life. I have been known to only want things I can't have so at least these other folks' dating crazy has more social healthy life movement involved. Thing is I have identified the problem and am always seeking relationship advice(or lack of relationship advice as the case may be) in attempt to grow and better myself. All we can do is attempt to fight the good fight.
