Plyometric exercises are also great to increase speed and power and are also good exercises that are very useful in many sports. With enhanced power and speed, plyometric exercises help you perform your best in your chosen sports.
With these exercises, you can enhance your ability to run faster, jump higher and hit harder which are very important abilities to be able to perform your best in your chosen sports. It may involve jumping, skipping or running, depending also of the aim end goal you want to achieve. If you want to achieve speed with plyometrics, you may follow plyometric training that is focused on increasing your running speed.
Other simple exercises to increase speed and agility
Even simple exercises like climbing the stairs back and forth, jumping rope and hurdle hops are also great in increasing your speed and agility. You can also make use of certain equipment to help you with your training program. If you want to run faster, you may also use a speed chute in your training, or having a training partner to put added resistance in your running, and improving your speed and agility.
In doing these exercises with the intention of increasing your speed and agility, it is important to do stretching exercises to avoid injuries. Keep in mind that these exercises may put you in a high risk of injuries, thus it is important to do them correctly and accurately. Stretching your muscles before doing any exercise will help you reach your maximum limits, helps you become more flexible and prevent injuries as well.
