Infrastructure Projects To Create New Residentials

A series of infrastructure and road improvement projects that were launched a few years ago are being completed simultaneously in different zones of the city. The flyovers, underpasses and widened roads are paving the way towards improved connectivity, and are creating newer residential localities in the suburbs.

Bangalore North

The upgradation of the NH7 Bellary Road leading to the new international airport into a six-lane carriageway and the signal-free access from the city to the international airport has provided a catalyst for the growth of the new BBMP wards of Byatarayanapura, Dasarahalli, and Yelahanka in the citys north. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has proposed to come up with a four km elevated six-lane highway from the Hebbal flyover till the Yelahanka bypass which will give the areas of Doddaballapur and Yelahanka further impetus.

The proposed Veeranapalya flyover will connect Mariyannapalya, Dasarahalli, Jakkur, Arkavathy Layout, and the international airport on one side and Veeranapalya, R T Nagar, and Sultanpalya on the other. This flyover will connect residential pockets such as Dasarahalli, Jakkur, Nagavara, Kempapura, Thanisandra and Coffee Board Layout. The Kalyan Nagar flyover will connect the surrounding neighbourhoods of HRBR layout, OMBR layout and NGEF layout which are prime residential catchments around this road improvement project. Residential catchments that will have better connectivity due to the Hennur Road flyover are those around Hennur Main Road, HBR Layout and Bagalur.

Bangalore East

An underpass at Kadubeesanahalli and the proposed Mahadevapura flyover will connect the IT hubs of Whitefield and ITPL with CV Raman Nagar, Kagadasapura, Vignananagar and B Narayanapura in the northern part. Localities here are witnessing an upsurge in residential development.Whitefield has villas, midsegment and premium two, three, and four bedroom apartments.

Bangalore South

Work on two flyovers, at Puttenahalli-Ring Road junction and Kadirenahalli-Ring Road junction, are in progress.The flyover planned at Bellandur junction will further boost connectivity to localities in the south and east. Old Airport Road, Sarjapur Road, and Hosur Road are residential catchments in the vicinity.The flyover coming up at HSR will connect HSR Layout, Hosur Road, Mangammanapalya, and Kudlu. The lower road will provide access to Koramangala, Adugodi, and Jakkasandra.Residential catchment areas around the Kadubeesinahalli flyover are Sarjapur Road, Doddakannelli and Haralur.

Bangalore West

A series of road improvement projects that include asphalting and construction of footpaths and storm water drains have been planned in Kengeri, Herohalli and Ullala sub-divisions.The improved Tumkur Road with its elevated section is witnessing increased residential development in the last couple of years catering to the mid segment. The areas that benefit from this improved connectivity are Peenya and Nelamangala.Nagarbhavi, Matthikere, Jalahalli, Bangalore University belt, Vijaynagar belt, Yeshwanthpur, Rajarajeshwarinagar, and Kengeri satellite town are witnessing residential activity as a result of these works.
