Torsion Springs

In general, it is wise to leave removing old torsion springs to professionals or at the very least a seasoned handyman friend. If you insist on doing it yourself, you have to have help. It is not possible to do it alone without risking your safety. It is quite easy for these to be mishandled, resulting in painful injuries.

Installing the torsion springs can be equally as tricky, so when choosing a new garage door kit, look for one that isn't too complex and following the instructions carefully. If you become too frustrated, call in the professionals.

Repair the Frame

After removing your old entrance, you'll want to check the frame and make any necessary repairs. Look for splintered wood, rotted areas, water damage, or any warping that may have occurred over the years. If the frame appears extremely damaged, this may have to be replaced as well. The frame serves as the foundation for your garage door, so it's important that it is in good condition.

Assemble the Tracks
