Is It Really Time To Leave The Uk?

Throughout history, the UK has had its fair share of ups and downs in terms of being a great place to live in

. In some instances, the ups and downs have been quick and regular and different for various people.

No matter whether you look at the Plague in the mid fourteenth century, when it was largely the lower classes who suffered as they couldn't afford the relevant herbal remedies to keep the disease away or the 1980s when the decade was an eclectic mix of so called city yuppies earning a fortune mixed with those who were struggling to make ends meet thanks to the newly imposed tax placed on all households that said a certain sum of money had to be paid for every person living under a roof, the country has been full of ups and downs.

Whilst the UK on the whole has been a relatively happy and positive place to live in since the turn of the millennium, things took a massive dive for the worst mid-way through the decade when the economy started to suffer and as many financiers predicted, by the time 2008 come, we were in the middle of a full blow recession.

The country has officially been out of the recession since January 2010 and there is no reason why it should slip back into one, as long as certain measures are taken (the Bank of England base rate, for example, has been at 0.5 percent since March 2009, but it was reported by Sky News on 27 July 2010 that Ernst and Young's Item Club have recommended it stay at this rate until 2014 to ensure that the economy fully recovers). This is not to say that living in the UK is easy, however, as although the worst is over, the aftermath of the recession is often just as bad as the recession itself.

From budget cuts having to be made across the board (the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition government have reduced public sector budgets by 25 percent with only a minimal amount of exceptions) to unemployment being at the highest it has been in over a decade, there are a lot of problems to battle with at the moment if you're a UK resident.

Fortunately, there is no law or stipulation to say that you have to stay in the country at anytime and whilst things are expected to get better year on year, if you're tired of the poor economy and the high unemployment rates, it might be time to think about leaving the UK.

In terms of where you go, the world is in effect your oyster, but it's highly recommended that you check out some of the most popular immigration destinations, as the thousands of people who move to them each year all can't be wrong.

Take Canada as an example. Outside of moving Down Under, receiving a Canada visa and moving to the massive expanse of land above America is reputedly the most popular option for Brits, thanks largely to its thriving economy, bustling cities mixed with beautiful scenery, wildlife and nature and its climate which, in some parts of the country, is very similar to that of the UK.

Plus, with a whole range of Canada visas to apply for, there is practically one for everyone, irrelevant of how you want to move.

Some people will say that leaving the UK for another country is like running away from the problem. But if you haven't caused the problem to start with, there is no real argument here - if you can afford to move away and watch from outside, most would agree you'd be unwise not to.
