Whilst Radian6 is a really strong, and fully comprehensive tool, it may be too much for many smaller organizations. What I would suggest is that before you look to make a significant layout on this software, seek to use the free smaller-scale tools first in order to see if they provide you with enough information.


There are a number of faults with the Radian6 system, firstly is the issue of having multiple interfaces. Instead of one user interface, you must use both a web-based and a desktop based interface in order to fully utilise the software. This is not only time consuming but is quite complicated and can become time consuming. Another issue lies in the fact that Radian6 still does not have a phone app. This means there is no way of accessing the information whilst on the go which is often a very important element for many social media users. There is also the issue of the pricing, which can become very expensive for all but the larger brands. Whilst the fees do vary based on your needs, they can be quite daunting which is again why I would suggest you look at your brands needs before deciding whether or not you need this product. Also, despite the large volume range these pricing options offer, it is very easy to exceed these limits and therefore can add even more cost to your project.

Overall, Radian6 is clearly a very useful monitoring tool with a variety of features that allows you to monitor a wide and varying landscape. The company also offers great technical support and back up and is well known for being open to ideas and suggestions. However, unless you are a large organization the use of Radian6 may be somewhat excessive and I would therefore suggest that you look to other cheaper, or even free monitoring tools. I would therefore suggest you sit down and figure out a list of must-have's and would like to have's before you decide on which programme to use.
