Jerry Seinfeld Tickets - On The Road
The NBC Network recently announced the television schedule for the upcoming season
, with one of the most anticipated programs being Jerry Seinfeld's The Marriage Ref. The reality series will feature celebrities and a referee mediating disagreements between squabbling couples. Comedian Tom Papa will serve as the show's ref. Seinfeld told Variety earlier this year, "This is not a therapy show, it's a comedy show. After nine years of marriage, I have discovered that the comedic potential of this subject is quite rich."
The Marriage Ref will be a far cry from a Dr. Phil therapy session and will instead focus on the mundane and silly arguments that often arise within a marriage. NBC will soon be holding casting calls around the country. Mark your calendar for the start of The Marriage Ref and go online for your pair of Jerry Seinfeld tickets.
Jerry Seinfeld, along with Larry David, was responsible for the hit comedy series Seinfeld, which was on the air from 1989 to 1998. Seinfeld played a version of himself on the show and was joined by actors Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards and Jason Alexander. Seinfeld quickly became a critical and commercial favorite and managed to break down barriers for the traditional sitcom standards.
Instead of a continuous plotline, the show boasted episodes that were based on everyday experiences, like waiting in line at a restaurant, getting lost in a parking garage and going to the movie theater. Dubbed "the show about nothing," it is still in syndication and has won accolades from TV Guide, which named the series "The Greatest Television of All Time."
After the conclusion of the series, Seinfeld returned to his roots with stand-up comedy routines on his tour called I'm Telling You for the Last Time. He didn't immediately pursue a film career (as many other television personalities do), but instead focused on perfecting his comedy routine. Nevertheless Seinfeld did appear in the animated Bee Movie as the voice of the title character, Barry.
Recently it was announced that the entire cast of Seinfeld would be appearing in Larry David's HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm. Seinfeld, Louis-Dreyfus, Alexander and Richards will all be featured in a multiple episode story set to air sometime this fall. It will be the first time that all four actors appear together in a scripted TV show since Seinfeld went off the air. Check out the website for Curb Your Enthusiasm for further details about the upcoming collaboration and get the inside scoop from creator Larry David.
In the beginning Jerry Seinfeld became a famous performer in New York nightclubs, making offhand observations about occurrences in everyday life. These silly remarks that had people in reoccurring fits of giggles would one day prove to be the basis of one of television's greatest shows. The star of that show has made inroads as a comedian, entertainer and actor. For a chance to enjoy Seinfeld as he once was (just a struggling New York City funnyman), make sure to book a seat at one of his scheduled performances in a city near you.
