Let's first define jogging and then we'll get to the jogging benefits for your body, mind and soul!
Jogging is a form of aerobic running (muscles use oxygen while you workout) at a relatively slow, steady pace. The pace can vary depending on an individual's age, fitness condition and some other body parameters. However, jogging should never be considered as a painful exercise, because your own body sets a tempo that suits you, usually determined by your heart rate.
There is a common formula used to calculate one's optimal heart rate for effective jogging and it is:
(220- age )* 0.8 heartbeats / minute
This means that you should run at 80% of your "maximum workout heart rate" for the jogging benefits to kick in.For example, if you're 30 years old, the formula would be:
(220-30) * 0.8 = 152 beats per minute -> for most people, that's pretty close to walking!

Increased metabolism (you absorb less fat from the food, and your digestion ability improves drastically)
Strengthens your immune system
Strengthens your bones
Improves libido!
These are just some of jogging benefits, the list is endless. I did mention that jogging alters one's state of mind, and this is very true, as you'll probably find out in your own experience, as soon as you start jogging.
However, before you can experience full jogging benefits, you have to learn how to jog properly 1st. If you do not, you could end up hurting yourself in the long-run.
