Judge Grants Summary Judgment To Defendants Over Reglan Lawsuit
In a new lawsuit filed in the Southern District of Ohio
, the Judge grants summary judgment to defendants over Reglan side effects. The lawsuit was filed by Donna Hogue on 7th December 2012 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, in which she claimed that after taking a generic form of Reglan she suffered from tardive dyskinesia a neurological disorder that resembles Tourettes syndrome characterized by chewing and sucking motions, rapid eye blinking, spasms, lip smacking, and grimacing.
In the lawsuit filed by the plaintiff it was stated that she took the generic form of Reglan after being prescribed by her doctor to treat gastrointestinal problems, however, immediately after ingesting the drug she suffered from Reglan side effects that she was not aware of and had she been warned she would have avoided using the generic form of Reglan.
In the lawsuit the plaintiff brings plenty of counts against the defendants Weyth LLC, Pfizer and Schwartz Pharma and seeks compensatory and punitive damages. The charges that were framed by the plaintiff and her Reglan attorney include breach of warranties, product liability, negligence, and concealment of relevant information. However, at the end of the hearing, the Judge Michael H. Watson granted summary judgment to defendants holding that the brand name manufacturers of Reglan were not responsible for the care of an injured patient who took the generic equivalent of the drug.
The ruling of the judge in this lawsuit could impact other plaintiffs seeking to file a Reglan Lawsuit particularly in Ohio.

Constant movements of the mouth
Abnormal movements of tongue, jaw and cheeks
Lateral and up and down movement of jaw
Protruding tongue
Facial grimacing
Jaw swinging
Finger movement

Brain dysfunction/atrophy
Psychosis
Diabetes
Genetic predisposition
Substance abuse
What is Reglan?
Reglan is a prescription drug intended to treat problems like irritable bowel syndrome, heart burn and inadequate evacuation of intestine. Reglan works by increasing the rate of contraction of digestive tract muscles. The increased muscle movement of the digestive tract speeds up the rate at which the stomach empties into the intestines. Reglan is used short-term to treat heartburn caused by gastro esophageal reflux in people who have used other medications without relief of symptoms.
