Karate And It's Role In Self Defense
Karate is a martial arts form that originated in Japan many
, many years ago. It is a fighting form that involves kicking, punching, kneeing, elbowing, and even locking in some cases. Karate is perhaps best known for being an open hand version of martial arts. This includes moves such as the knife hand block and so on. Some forms of karate concentrate on pressure point strikes as well. This can be very effective against an enemy as it is said, in some cases, that a strike in the right place with enough force is able to kill a man. This was very useful tactic in the Japanese military during wars in the past. There are also a number of hold that can quickly disarm and disable an attacker. This can involved cutting circulation from the brain causing them to pass out or just countering attacks by placing their arms in particular ways that gives you all the power. If continued struggle occurs from the opposition, the arm can be torqued in a manner that breaks it or does significant damage and pain to the shoulder. If this is done, the fight is almost certainly over leaving one victorious.
Karate is a form of martial arts that requires a great deal of agility, balance, speed, strength, and concentration. The goal is to align your body and mind in order to achieve perfect symmetry and complete control over your body. Grip strength is often emphasized because of the open hand techniques that are practiced. This can involved strengthening the bones in the hand as well as the muscles. To strengthen the hand bones, many practice by breaking boards or even cement blocks. This can create tiny stress fractures in the hand bones that then fuse back together stronger then it was before. If this is done enough times, the hand bones become incredibly strong and will not break in almost any situation.
Karate can be done for many different reason. It is done in recreation, sport, and even done as apart of one's culture. Karate has a long history in Japan and is taught nearly everywhere. It is not only a means of self defense and martial arts, but also apart of their heritage. Those that practice the sport for recreation, competition, or self defense do it as a way to build quickness, strength, and focus. It is a great means of exercise to stay or get in shape while learning important attributes that will allow you to defend yourself in certain scenarios. Also, the mental aspect of karate can carry over into every day things. Learning karate takes a great deal of discipline of focus. These are things that will allow you to be successful in school and in the workplace.
