The religious aspect and the legend of this great festival date back to time when pot of nectar for immortality was recovered from the mixing of the ocean for which a strain war between God and Demon ensued. Approximately twelve days and twelve nights there was a violent fight between god and demons in order to possess the container of amrit. It is believed that during the fight, drops of amrit fell on the four places, Nasik, Ujjain, Haridwar and Allahabad. In order to remember the holy event, Kumbh Mela celebrated in four places.
Maha Kumbh Mela is the religious festival in Hinduism and is celebrated after 12 year. Kumbh mela 2013 will be held at the (Sangam) holy land of Allahabad, India, through January till Mahashivratri in February. According to astrologers, the kumbha mela takes place when the planet Jupiter enters the sign of Aquarius and the Sun enters into Aries. Sangam is an amalgamation of of three holy river (Ganga,Yamuna and Saraswati) and is major part of Maha kumbh.
Maha Kumbh Mela 2013 will be held in (Sangam) Allahabad from 27th January to 25th February in 2013.

6th February (Wednesday) - Ekadashi Snan
10th February (Sunday) - Mauni Amavasya Snan (Main Bathing Day)
15th February (Friday) - Basant Panchami Snan
17th February (Sunday) - Rath Saptami Snan
18th February (Monday) - Bhisma Ekadashi Snan
25th February (Monday) - Maghi Purnima Snan
Kumbh Mela 2013 trip is a good chance for people to wash from all the past sins. Last time Kumbh Mela was celebrated in 2001, approximately Fifty million devotees participated and it was a record. But in 2013, more than 85 million pilgrims are predictable to participate.
