Vicente Fernandez Tickets - Mexican Rancheras Singer Finishing Farewell Tour

For over 40 years, Vicente Fernandez has been delighting fans of classic Mexican

ranchera music with his operatic voice, unique singing style, and dedication to the Mexico of old. Known both as "El rey de la cancion ranchera" (The king of ranch music) or Chente, his most famous title, Vicente Fernandez has sold over 65 million copies of his music, has acted in countless films, and has produced still others more. Over the years, Fernandez has become a cultural icon and a central figure and the greatest living singer from Mexico. Although he still has some fuel left in him, Vicente Fernandez has decided to hang up his hat - which he is famous for always wearing - and leave the singing and touring life behind. Throughout the Farewell Tour, Vicente Fernandez tickets have sold out at every venue, demonstrating just how powerful a figure he is in music.

Working toward Breaking Through

Born in Jalisco, Mexico in 1940, Vicente Fernandez lived and worked on the ranch that his father owned. He played many roles while on the ranch including cashier, dish washer, waiter, and even manager of his uncle's restaurant. Throughout his childhood, Fernandez enjoyed films that starred the famed Pedro Infante and when he was just a young boy, he told his mother he would someday be just like his favorite actor. He had picked up the guitar and began singing like the ranchera singers on the radio by age eight - an early sign of his final destiny.

As a young boy, Vicente entered and won several key singing competitions that would bolster a desire to become a professional singer and musician. The one competition that really gave Vicente his start in the music industry and his first feel for stardom was when he won a competition at 14 that was sponsored by a Guadalajara TV station. After his father lost his ranch, Vicente Fernandez decided to go back to Jalisco after his family had moved to Tijuana in order to pursue music. He played at various bars and finally decided to try his luck in Mexico City where he eventually ended up singing at El Amanacer Tapatio, a restaurant in the city. He eventually left the city to marry Maria del Refugio Abarca Villasenor in 1963.

After having auditioned for countless music reps and producers, Fernandez finally got his day in 1966 when he was offered a contract by Sony Discos, formerly CBS Mexico. Virtually the moment he was signed, Vicente Fernandez became a star. A few years later in 1971, Vicente even branched out into acting by starring in the film Tacos al Carbon. In 1974, he starred in another movie and also recorded the entire soundtrack titled Ley del Monte. Since his acting career started, Vicente completed 40 films in which he acted, produced, and sang in.

Vicente Fernandez tried for years to break through into the music industry and when he did, he never looked back. He has recorded more than 50 albums, has held countless concerts, and has become an all-around star from Mexico that has influenced the world. This is his last hoorah, though his music lasts forever.
