The law of attraction is very much misunderstood by the majority of self-help readers. This is why people who are initially excited by the idea can't manifest what they want even when they follow all instructions. It's because they're missing a critical step.

Several books have been written on the law of attraction. Some are very old such as The Science of Getting Rich and Think and Grow Rich. This law of abundance was made popular by the movie The Secret. It's because of its growing popularity that we're starting to realize that many people cannot make the law work.

It is assumed that to manifest your desires, you need to think positively at all times. You can tell if you're doing it right by the way you feel. If you feel happy and motivated, then you're thinking positively.

Another required step is that you need to think about what you desire. If you want more money, then you need to think about money coming into your life. To make this technique more powerful, you actually have to believe that you already have what you want.

So if your desire is having more money, you would imagine yourself already having a lot of money. It's a sort of way to trick your mind into believing that what you want is already granted.

When people follow these instructions to the T, and they don't see any changes to their life, they will lose belief.

So your emotions are on a roller coaster ride. After reading about this Universal Law, you'll have high hopes of getting the car you want, going on your dream vacation and the ability to spend money on luxurious items.

When you try hard to practice this law and you find that none of your desires have manifested, you'll become devastated. Your hopes of having a better life are gone. You're back to square one.

This is a shame because you are so near to manifesting your desires. You just don't realize that there is an important step which you've missed.

This critical step is the missing secret to manifestation. It's called inspired action.

The law of attraction requires you not only to think positively, but to take action. If you have a hunch to do something, then it's the Universe telling you what to do to manifest your desires. So instead of just sitting down and think, you need to take action so that you can receive what is being attracted to you.

This is the missing step which is not explained too well in a lot of books. There are many more important points. You just need to find the right book to get this information.
