Learning In School: A Two Way Process

Education is the only thing which will not be taken away from a person

. Everyone is seeking for the right education. Right education should be offered by the school. It is in school where a child, a teenager, and an adult can gain knowledge on the basic principles which involves laws and facts. The wisdom acquired in school is applied on real life situations. Education involves learning and learning is a two way process. It involves interaction between individuals. Just like the scenarios in school wherein we can notice the teacher to student interaction, student to student interaction, and teacher to teacher interaction. In this article we will know how learning is done. Basically, this will be tackling the two way process of learning, specifically in school.

Why do people go to school? Is it because majority of people go there and study? Is it because there are many grants available for people and adults who go to school? Are they just doing this since most people tend to go to school? People go to school for them to learn. Learning is the basic reason why adults pursue schooling, and why parents are sending their children to school.

What can be learned in school? The school offers different learning strategies such as making an effective curriculum for different levels of education. These levels are primary or the elementary level, secondary level, and tertiary level. In elementary, the pupils learn about the basic values in life, such as teaching them on right manners and good conducts. It is in this level wherein a child is able to know how great life is. The thoughts of a child are being shaped in this level. In secondary level, the teaching strategy is focusing on the development of a teenager into a adolescent. The subjects being taught is now becoming harder compared to those being taught in elementary levels. In tertiary, the subjects being taught are for the preparation of a student to becoming an adult. It is in this level wherein the future of an adult is the main concern. After surpassing this level, the adult is considered a professional.

There are two ways of learning process: speaking and listening. Speaking up enable the adult to express what he/she really feels. The thought within his/her mind are conveyed through speaking. This is one of the basic process of learning. In school, the teachers inculcate the idea on the subject matter to the students. The students should also speak up. He/she should also express what it is in his mind to the teacher. There are also instances wherein a teacher is incapable of speaking. What is actually meant through the speaking process is speaking from the heart. It is expressing the ideas orally or through sign language.

The next process is listening. And this process is not mere listening but listening with understanding. They say that an effective communicating skill requires 95% of listening. To have an efficient learning, it is important to listen. It is through listening that we enable to hear the thoughts of others. It is also with listening that we are able to understand each other. Just like for example in school, for students to learn the lessons well, they must listen to what their teacher is saying. Also, the teacher must also hear from their students. Students have always had something to say, you should listen. For better communication and learning, this two-way process of learning should be practiced.
