Letting Go And Starting Over
Holding on to our past often prevents us from moving to our future
. We forget that we have a life to live and others to love for. We have to convince our minds that we have to let go of our past to officially move on.
It really feels like the end of world when a person is left out and broken by the one he/she loves. Break-ups really happen within a relationship one way or the other. There are many reasons why this happens and not all break-ups are valid and fair.
To get started, below are strategies you can use and practice:
Try to get your body moving to activate your endorphins. Endorphins are a natural pain killer and we can get this by exercising. Once you do strenuous activities, you will be able to produce an endorphin rush. However, make sure you also consult your doctor if your body can take strenuous activities such as exercising.
Do not get yourself emotional. As much as possible, just entertain positive feelings and you will soon get to moving on. Refrain yourself from going to places that will remain you of your past relationship. Also throw away things that can remind you of your partner. Anything that contributes negative emotions as well as past memories should be avoided.
Do not romanticize the past. Please do not make things even worse for you. Remembering the past is not a good thing. Instead try to remember that hurt and heartaches that your ex partner gave you. Let things be in the past and think more of what you can do in the future.
After you get tired of crying and mourning about the situation you are in, it is better to also see the whole picture. You should ask yourself the things you lack, the causes of a break-up and other things that contributed to the whole situation. It is time to think and realize if you ever have done something that has worsened your relationship. You should try asking yourself questions like, "Am I too trusting?" or "Did I not give enough attention?". The purpose of thinking and asking yourself of the strengths and weaknesses you have had on the past can help you become a better person.
You are not starting over from scratch. Some people who had hard time dealing with their past relationship, often say they do not want to start over from scratch. This is not really the case. Just think that your past or break up is just a day off and you are now moving into another chapter of your life.
In love, there are absolutely heartaches and hurt. There is no perfect person and no perfect relationship. We just have to accept these things and try our best t change for the better. Moving is hard as it may seem. But when you finally learn to let go, the outcome is very rewarding.
