Look Beautiful, Feel Beautiful; Reflecting Yourself
I used to wake up and feel good about myself
I used to wake up and feel good about myself. I used to wake up and be happy with how I looked, happy with my body. There was a time when I didn't even obsess about it, much less think about it. Now it is in every waking thought. What should I eat? What should I wear? How should I wear my hair? What should I buy? How is my make-up? It is exhausting.
And every woman knows it. I want to wake up again and throw my hair up and it look good. I want to put on my clothes and know they are flattering. I want to feel sexy and beautiful, but most of the time it is a constant battle. Every woman I ever see I look at her and start the comparisons....fashion sense, hair style, body type, personality. It's an awful thing to do but every woman does it...most of the time without even realizing it.
In today's ultra modern society a woman is expected to be fashionable and they should do the utmost to stay as beautiful as they possibly can. There are hundreds of beauty products on the market which claim to be able to do miracles and woman throughout the world spend a fortune on them in the hope that they will be able to slow time down a little.
Women will ask themselves the question 'am I beautiful enough' because peer pressure today is intense. Everywhere a woman looks they see stars of the silver screen, super models in glossy fashion magazines and singers who just get better looking as time goes by. Women feel that they need to keep pace with these icons who smile so confidently on the front pages the glossy journals on the newsstands.
In recent years just as in ancient times women have been expected to be beautiful, men adore having an attractive female on their arm because it gives them feel good. The beautiful woman is his trophy that he proudly shows off to the world and other men admire and even lust after her. History has certainly proved that this is often the case with the 'face that launched a thousand ships'.
Because the truth is, we will never measure up because that standard is an impossible one. It is a figment of our imagination that tells us if we get there, if we have a perfect body, great hair, fashion, and sex appeal then we will finally be happy, we will finally have the marriage we want, the relationships we want, and the peace that we are all so desperately after.
The question a woman will always ask herself no matter how beautiful she is will remain the same throughout time. Am I beautiful enough? The answer is that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, what one person thinks of as beautiful another may not.
Those days happen, it's a reality. But being obsessed over how we look, what we eat, and if we are living up to those ridiculous expectations doesn't have to control our lives. My best days are when I decide I am not going to worry about what I eat or how I look. Usually that's a Saturday... but that's what it takes...to make a daily decision to tell yourself "today, I'm just not going to worry about it". Give yourself a break day. And the next day do it again. If you make it a conscious decision enough times, eventually it will become an unconscious decision.
A woman can be transformed from head to her toes with all sorts of procedures that will enhance her looks and make her look and feel a million dollars. The fact that it most probably will cost as much does not matter to the woman because the end result is worth the money she has to spend.
Feel good on yourself. This is the only way to look beautiful; even thousand dollar surgery or beauty therapy cant do anything if you aren't feel comfortable with yourself.
