For many new mommies, losing pregnancy weight can be one of the most important things
. Once baby has been born, your body can be completely foreign to you and getting it back to how it used to be before it was invaded by a baby, can be all you want to feel normal again. With pregnancy you put on a considerable amount of weight and this is perfectly normal. Breastfeeding can help many mothers lose the weight but often this doesnt seem to help despite months of nursing. For those few mothers who can get away with just nursing, good for you! But what about those who dont get away with just nursing? Mothers have to concentrate on the safest way of losing pregnancy weight, but this doesnt mean quick results cant occur. There are a few habits we must claw. ourselves out of if we want to have any hope of losing fast and getting back to normal. While pregnant you may have just let go and enjoyed eating what you like and felt like. You may have also quit exercising, especially because in the first trimester you were most likely extremely tired and by the last you were so big that resting was very important to you and your babys health! When I was pregnant I picked up a comfort eating habit. Food became a huge comfort to me, most likely because my hormones were sending my emotions all over the place. These are some things you are going to have change now that you have your body back if you want it to be how it used to be. However dont cut calories too quickly and dramatically to begin with. If you are breastfeeding you are still going to need quite a few, if not then it may be harder to cut calories as you are used to eating so many. If you arent nursing a great way to reduce calories without too much hassle is to start eating some fruit before each meal. 4-5 Pieces is usually sufficient enough about half an hour before. This will give you some quick energy and satisfy you long enough for your main meal to digest enough for you to receive energy from that. Getting in a daily salad is also helpful in ensuring you get lots of minerals. A good way to eat a daily salad is to pick a few of your favorite veggies and use these as the bulk of the salad. Make sure you eat lots more of these items to make up for the fact you havent got as much variety. Mixing it in with your main meal will help you chew it down and also will help aid digestion of the main meal. Make sure you also incorporate some daily exercise. You are recovering from pregnancy though so make it light. A great suggestion is to go for a walk daily with your baby. I had daily walks with my son in a sling and I found it great to get out of the house. It also came in handy when my son was suffering from colic. I could take him out in the sling and he settled. These are small stepping-stones but your number one concern is going to be your baby. You will lose weight and much more quickly than you really believe right now. Making positive changes in the right direction but no overburdening yourself, will get you there quickly.
