The picture quality is good, although I had to mess with the color settings a lot (I'm sure I have not yet obtained 100% correct). There are some slight discoloration on the edges, but this is only noticeable when the TV shows a color.
I have no anti-aliasing (called TruMotion) enabled. TV will look better, but I think it makes everything look like a soap opera. Fortunately it is easy to disable (Menu> Photos> TruMotion). Note: You must exit each item TruMotion. TV will juddery without normalization, but there is a restriction on all TV 120 Hz, and much better than TruMotion on (in my opinion).
That said, movies and games look fantastic with smoothing off. Xbox 360 and PS3 games look great movies Blu-ray.
We have reached the limit of 3 HDMI ports very rapidly (Xbox 360, PS3, DVR), but I thought I needed another, I would probably be time to get a receiver anyway. Note that only one set of component inputs.
The speakers are ok, nothing to write home about but gets the job done.
Remote requires that you point to a very specific point (bottom right of the TV). Kind of annoying, but I used (I sit about 10 feet away).
The attitude is good place (I turn to face the kitchen when I make dinner), but is only about 20 degrees.
I am very pleased with what I got for the price I paid!

Great TV for its price
*I will lengthen this review after I've had more time with the TV*
My favorite feature so far has to be the "Picture Wizard." This tool only takes about 1 minute to use and makes noticeable differences in picture quality.
The ONLY complaint I have so far is that the "TruMotion" feature is a joke. Turning it on any level (1 to 10) makes the picture unbearable. Very hard to describe this but it looks like a "bad soap opera." I keep it turned off all the time. I wish I could have gotten the same TV without TruMotion.
Everything else works great as far as I can tell, and it definitely has a stylish look to it. Hard to go wrong with a 1080p picture, especially for the vast majority of consumers.
Great TV
This is my first flat screen, but in comparing it with those of friends' and family, this TV has the better picture. It was simple to set up to DirecTV and my DVD player. Love the voice moderation feature that keeps commercials from blowing you into the next county. :0) I read reviews and compared features-to-cost with other similar models. This model won hands-down.
LG best value
I have just purchased this TV and can hardly wait to have it delivered. The price at $879 with free shipping was $50-$100 less than anywhere else. The 47 inch LG with 1080p, 120 hz and 100,000 to 1 contrast as well as the other features it has place it hundreds below the competition. We have a 42 inch LG we bought last year, and recommend shopping LG before you spend lots more on the standards of Sony and Samsung (both great brands)but no longer corner the market on technology.
