Trying to gain customers for your newly formed home cleaning business can seem like a difficult task

. This can seem especially intimidating if you have never owned a business before. The good news is there are several things you can do that could help you market your company and gain a customer base.

One of the first things you need to do is decide what group or groups you want to target. Do you want to cater to single mothers, married couples or young adults? Maybe you want to target all of those groups and more. It's really up to you. Once you decide on the groups you want to target, then you will be able to begin your campaign.

Let's say you want to target single mothers or even single fathers. You should come up with a few reasons why this particular group of people would need your assistance in the first place. Maybe they need the help of your home cleaning service, because they work long hours and they don't have time to clean up. Maybe they don't have a full-time job and instead they stay home and home school their children. There could be a myriad of reasons why a single parent would want or need your services. Your job is to figure them out.

After that, you must find a way to reach out to this particular group of people. It could be quite costly and in some cases extremely difficult to get a list of all of the single parents in your area. So, you may not want to take this route. On the other hand, you may do better placing advertisements near places they frequent. This can include schools, day care centers and of course grocery stores. It may be difficult to get these establishments to allow you to hang posters and signs inside or directly outside of their building. So, your next best bet would probably be to find billboards near these particular locations. You could also place ads in local parenting magazines or even the newspaper.

Lastly, you could try more direct methods such as direct mailers or going door to door. The only thing about this option is that you might end up advertising to a good bit of people outside of your target group.

So, finding customers for your home cleaning service isn't necessarily a walk in the park. It will take a good amount of thought, time, effort and money. However, if you are willing to put in the work, you will build a consistent and steady customer base in no time.
