Matol Botanical was founded in 1984 and officially launched in October of the same year by partners Robert Bolduc and Anthony Jurak

. Headquartered in Point Claire, Quebec, the company set forth a goal of providing a vehicle that would allow people to take part in impacting world health.

Matol has a flagship product called Km Health Tonic that oxygenates the blood, balances the body's acidic level, eliminates toxins and improves the body's natural ability to absorb nutrients from food by providing the body's requirement of potassium. Km Health Tonic was developed by Karl Jurak in 1922 while living in his native Austria. The story goes that, like many other young men of Austria, Karl enjoyed mountain climbing but he noticed that his strength and energy levels were greatly impaired by the higher elevations. Almost falling to his death when overcome with an unexplained loss of energy on one of his climbs, Karl set out to find a way to establish optimum health using natural botanical elements. Through diligent research and testing, Karl developed his formula. After friends noticed the improvement in his energy levels and overall health, they asked him to share his new discovery. He willingly shared his "preparation" with them until his move to Canada in 1932.

Even in Canada, it wasn't long before he was giving his "preparation" to friends. When Karl's son Anthony gave some to his friend Robert Bolduc, who has a Master's of Business Administration degree, Robert immediately recognized the commercial potential and the health benefits. Robert and Anthony became partners and launched Matol Botanical International. Because the demand for the formula had grown through word of mouth, network marketing seemed the natural choice in distributing Dr. Karl Jurak's "preparation". In 1986, Matol Botanical International expanded to the United States market, where the product was sold as" Km" a potassium and mineral supplement. Since that time the company has developed a complete line of health and wellness nutritional products that are designed to boost the immune system, fight aging with Ageless Xtra, maintain a healthy digestive system, and balance the body's systems including a weight loss product. Each product is of pharmacy grade regulation.

In 2009 Matol Botanical International was purchased by Univera, Ltd. the products and distributors have been assimilated into the Univera Corp. Several of the products are still being sold by Univera using the Matol logo. Uivera plans to continue Matol's high standards and ethics to help insure all Matol and Univera Associates and customers a bright future.
