More Great Ways To Get Leads And Customers by:Neil Asher

I've already mentioned pay-per-click advertising and affiliate marketing as two of

the top ways to get leads and customers for your information marketing business. They are certainly two of the best, and you may find that they deliver more results faster than any other lead-generation channels.

Of course, that doesn't mean you should stop blogging or sending out your e-mail newsletter. You need to keep developing fresh content for your information products everyday. The Internet is a dynamic, ever-changing environment, where yesterday's news is quickly buried by the avalanche of new information coming out by the hour and the minute.

So even if you are getting a good flow of leads from your current efforts, it's just smart Internet marketing to broaden your reach. You need to establish multiple channels to funnel fresh leads to your web pages constantly.

Take for example "banner advertising." This is where you hang a graphically interesting visual link to your pages on other web sites. It may be considered "old school" in some Internet marketing circles, but can you afford you ignore it?

Not if it works! You can go to big banner ad networks, or you can go directly to large web sites, and you can do deals with them. It is still a very standard thing to do right now.

You can also test banner ads without much cost if you arrange to pay by the click-through. See what kind of leads you get. Sometimes you'll find that the gross numbers aren't so great. The traffic volume is low. But the conversion rates may be spectacular.

If you are getting highly qualified leads that convert, it would make perfect sense from an ROI point of view to keep expanding your banner-ad campaign till the law of diminishing returns kicks in. On the other hand, if the banner ads are doing nothing for you, drop them. Or else try some different information product messages. Or try some different locations. Testing is a huge part of any successful information marketing effort.

Another way to drive traffic to your web pages has also been around for quite a while and proven successful: text links. You can place text links in your blogs, press releases, articles and e-newsletters. If you use an automatic signature on your outbound e-mail, be sure it contains a text link, too. There are even information marketing networks that will, for a small fee, insert your text links in other media. It's certainly worth a try.

One other information marketing avenue to test is Partnerships with other web sites. You might arrange to buy some advertising with them, or you might find some ways to integrate your content with theirs a little bit. Sometimes you can even market your information products right on their pages, or at the very least write guest articles on their web pages or blogs. Greater exposure means greater opportunities to generate leads.

So, partnerships can be very valuable, if you are creative and learn how to work together. Once you establish a good relationship with a web site that gets a lot of traffic, it can last for years and years. And that can be worth a lot of money to you over time.
