The Network Marketing Business Journal is a trade publication that focuses on the world of network marketing

. Network marketing is also commonly referred to as direct sales or multilevel marketing (MLM). These companies are structured so that individuals who sign on build their own business and recruit new associates. An individual's income is based on the income of those in their downline, and every individual has an upline and a downline - hence the term, "multi-level."
