New Coffee Machines Offer More Than An Automatic Drip

Share: Back in the day, you could not expect much more from a coffee machine than the option
to pour some water into a reservoir, add some coffee grounds to a filter and get a pot of coffee in a few minutes because that was all coffee machines were designed to do. A coffee maker from those days had only the rudimentary elements included such as a warming plate and carafe that were standard and the expectation was for basic coffee production and nothing more. Times have certainly changed since then and today, new coffee machines offer more than just an automatic drip pot of the elixir that gets many people started on their way every day.
New coffee machines are offered everywhere from your local department store to specialty shops that have top of the line coffee machines with more bells and whistles than ever before. One of the features that is appealing to the busy person who does not want to have to deal with measuring grounds and placing filters is the coffee pods. Not all new machines accept these pods but for those that do, it simplifies the coffee making process a great deal because you only have to drop the pod into the coffee machine, add water and coffee is ready a few minutes later. Some new coffee machines even allow you to retrieve a freshly brewed cup before the pot is finished with a stop drop mechanism that lets the coffee keep brewing but not drip until the pot is placed back beneath the output area.
For those who like truly fresh brewed coffee, there are even select coffee machines that have an integrated bean grinder. It is an expensive feature on these machines but it captures the flavor of fresh ground coffee for every occasion that coffee is made because it grinds only the beans for the amount specified. Another great feature is the permanent coffee filter. For those who drink coffee on the regular and want to conserve on paper, a permanent coffee filter is the way to go.
Also on the pricey side are coffee machines that have water filters built in. Water from the tap sometimes contains iron or chlorine that can hamper the taste of coffee. These filters are not permanent so they must periodically be replaced but they do make a significant difference in the taste of the coffee when used with tap water that has these things in it.

Share: Perhaps the most appreciable features that new coffee machines offer are the digital controls. Automatic shut off, LCD display screens, clocks, timers and backlit buttons are some of the more popular features on these machines that let you do a variety of functions at different times. Now you can have coffee brewed and ready in the morning. Those who leave the pot on by accident can rest assure that it will turn itself off in an hour or two before a scorched pot bottom happens. And those who want to find the coffee pot without turning on the lights and disturbing others will appreciate the backlit features behind the buttons that lets you see these coffee machines in the dark.
