New Innovation Available In Spa Sanitizing Systems
There are many different types of water systems available for spas
. Many use chemicals to create a soothing and safe water sanitizing system, while others use salt. One of the newest innovations is for the hot tub sanitizing system to use diamond technology. It combines diamonds, salt and water.
Technology
A diamond electrode device is inserted into the hot tub's filtration area and used to break apart and then disperse the water molecules throughout the spa. This creates active oxygen in the water. Specially formulated salt is added monthly to the water system. It must be carefully measured and time given to allow it to work. Use of test strips will alert the owner as to whether the water has the right pH balance. The diamond electrode must be cleaned monthly by soaking it in a special solution. This ensures the technology continues to work at peak potential. A calcium remover will help to keep the water jets and filtration system free of deposits and build-up.
The Basics
Maintaining clean, clear water in a home spa is important to health and enjoyment. Hot water and people together in confined spaces tend to generate bacteria. When the environment is left uncontrolled and untreated, soaking in a hot tub can become a health hazard, rather than a positive relaxation experience. Adding salt to the water instead of ammonia, chlorine or bromine is a different way of removing impurities from the water while still making it safe.
Regulating
To be sure that the innovative system is working, it requires use of special technology and special hot tub spa supplies. A uniquely designed monitor is attached to the spa. When all of the salt water system components are in place, the owner can start up the process and allow the water to be regulated through the technology. This is automated through a control panel that manages the system according to the spa size and expected use throughout the month. Since this is rather new technology, only certain types and brands of spas are designed to work with the device. Many spas manufactured in 2009 and more recently are compatible with the new technology and can be easily adapted.
Safety
Using a saltwater system that creates chlorine and three other powerful, natural oxidizers to clean the water is more environmentally friendly than adding regular chlorine and other chemicals which can spill or cause home chemical accidents or injuries. When the spa is drained of water, it has less of an impact on the environment because there are fewer chemicals in it. When using this system, the water lasts longer, which requires less to be added and conserves water in the long run. There are also fewer chemical bottles used with the process, which creates less of an impact on landfills as a result.
