New Or Used; What Is The Best Solution
Cars, houses, computers and electronics are some of the things that we can purchase either new or used
. Often it makes sense to purchase an item "gently used," or "refurbished". Price isn't the only driving force, often more quality, memory, options, or size also plays into the equation.
The age old question is new or used car? The used car salesman didn't get the bad reputation for nothing. Too many people have been sold "lemons" through the years that make them leery of another. Fortunately, laws and policies have been enacted, somewhat, to protect the consumer. On the other hand as soon as that shiny new car is driven off the lot, it immediately depreciates. That has to be balanced with the tantalizing warranties of new cars. We have done both and had great success with reputable used car dealers or even private sales. You get more car for you buck.
Walk through any model home and the wheels start turning of colors, carpet samples, cabinet choices and floor plans. If you have definite ideas and aren't flexible this is probably the best option as you get exactly what you want. But there is no one to blame a poor choice on in years to come. There are also added expensive for new homes with heavy landscaping costs, Another thing to consider is that new developments don't have that comfortable and stable feel without the mature trees and landscaping. But you don't spend the first 4 years ripping up someone else's tams and fitzers either.
Computer and electronics are areas that make sense to buy used or refurbished. Unless your need cutting edge technology or have to be the first to own, you really can save a bundle and get more memory, more features and more capability for your money buying used. We have purchased refurbished computers, ipods, gps systems, used tape drives for data storage without any problems at all. We were able to get a lot more system for the same money or less buying used. Businesses are taping into the used tape drive and refurbished computer market for considerable savings.
New or used? Used or refurbished does take a little extra time and research to make sure you are getting what you are paying for. Always use reliable companies who depend on offering quality "gently used" products for their clients who want reasonable savings.
More "bang for your buck?" Used or refurbished is a smart way to go.
