Nfl Tickets - Week 3 Fantasy Pickups
Here are some players to think about picking up off the waiver wire heading into Week 3 of the 2010 NFL season:
Mike Tolbert, Running Back, San Diego Chargers: Tolbert did a great job filling in for an injured Ryan Mathews last week, totaling 82 rushing yards on 16 carries to go along with two touchdowns. The fullback has proven himself to be a better runner than expected and could figure into the ground game permanently. He's a good bet to get some goal line work at the very least, but could be in for more than that, especially if Mathews is sidelined again.
Jason Snelling, Running Back, Atlanta Falcons: Snelling tore apart the Cardinals when Michael Turner went down with a groin injury last week. Snelling might not be a name that sells NFL tickets, but he was phenomenal against Arizona. He eclipsed the 100-yard mark on the ground and added five catches for 57 yards, scoring thrice. Turner is reportedly good to go for Week 3, but this performance might warrant a little more work on a weekly basis for Snelling. If Turner goes down, he's got a ton of value.
Colts Defense: The Colts struggled to stop Arian Foster in Week 1, but fared much better against a solid New York Giants offense. They're not going to stuff the run, but they've been phenomenal against the pass thus far. They could be a solid week-to-week play aside from when they face the top backs in the league.
Josh Freeman, Quarterback, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Freeman will go through his growing pains, but he's already playing a lot better than expected. His athleticism and size make him an intriguing fantasy option because he has a knack for making plays and will add rushing yards on a regular basis. He's a decent backup to own.
Kyle Orton, Quarterback, Denver Broncos: He's probably owned in most leagues, but he should be owned in all leagues. Orton looks to be in command of a productive passing game this season and his apparent chemistry with rookie Demaryius Thomas is a great sign.
Louis Murphy, Wide Receiver, Oakland Raiders: Murphy shined once Bruce Gradkowski came into the game to play quarterback for the Raiders in Week 2, so the news that Gradkowski will start in Week 3 makes Murphy a rosterable player. Oakland doesn't have many other reliable options, so Murphy could end up seeing plenty of targets.
Mario Manningham, Wide Receiver, New York Giants: He might be third on the depth chart, but he's leading the team in yards for 2010. He's definitely a boom or bust type of player week to week, but he's worth a roster spot.
Keiland Williams, Running Back, Washington Redskins: At one point, Williams seemed like a long shot to make the team. He outlasted Willie Parker in the preseason and ended up snagging the third spot on the Washington running back depth chart. Larry Johnson was cut this week, making Williams the number two guy. Clinton Portis hasn't done much this season, so Williams could begin to garner more of a workload soon. Owners will have to be patient, but Williams could be a great value add.
