Nicki Minaj Tickets - Set To Perform At Bet Awards

One of the best female rappers to arrive on the music scene in a while has been slated to perform at the BET Awards this year

. Having only been a solo artist with a major label for a couple of years, Nicki Minaj has quickly established herself to be one of the best artists and performers around. She is energetic, peppy, and has a unique style that combines her flavorful rapping with different voices and accents. The BET Awards already have Samuel L. Jackson as the host, which has prompted more people to want to watch the awards show, but with Nicki Minaj on the stage, there is going to be a guaranteed interest from music lovers everywhere. Aside from the awards show, Nicki Minaj is still touring in support of her latest album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, and selling out Nicki Minaj tickets to virtually all of her performances.

Rise to Fame

Born Onika Tanya Maraj in Saint James in Trinidad and Tobago in 1982, Minaj eventually ended up in Queens, New York at the age of five. While attending LaGuardia High School, Minaj participated in the drama program since the school focused on visual and performing arts and music. Although her first passion was singing, she quickly turned to rapping. Early on, Nicki was signed to Dirty Money Records where she released Playtime is Over in 2007, her first mixtape. Under a different label, Be, in 2008 Nicki released Sucka Free, her second mixtape. At the 2008 Underground Music Awards, Nicki won Female Artist of the Year after having dropped her third mixtape and appearing on XXL Magazine.

Lil' Wayne found Nicki Minaj after hearing some of her music from her mixtapes. He decided she would be a great addition to his label and quickly signed her to Young Money Entertainment in 2009. Reaching number two on the Billboard charts, the single "BedRock" featured a solo rap verse by Nicki. "Roger That", another single in which she was featured, also placed well on the Billboard charts and both songs were from the collaboration album We Are Young Money.

In 2010, Nicki Minaj finally dropped her solo debut album, Pink Friday, which had been highly anticipated after her appearances on tracks with Rihanna and Mariah Carey. Seven songs simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart made Nicki the first artist to ever accomplish this feat. She was also the first female musician to top the Billboards unaccompanied since 2002 and the first one to be included on MTV's Annual Hottest MC List. Nicki Minaj quickly rose to fame for her extravagant wardrobe, fast rhyming, and unique style backed by different voices and "personalities."

In 2012, Nicki Minaj released her second album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, to high critical acclaim. With singles like "Starships" and "Roman Holiday", Nicki has solidified herself as the industry's leading female rapper. She is currently on tour to support Pink Friday, Roman Reloaded and is set to perform some of the best tracks she has to date. Her concerts and all-around performances are always energetic and upbeat, which is why so many people see her live.
