Ninja Self Defense Training - A Surprising Ninja Tactic To Use If He Grabs Your Weapon!

One of the primary differences between Ninjutsu - the art and philosophy of Japan's

ancient Ninja -and conventional martial arts, lies in how the Ninja thinks about a fight. Where most conventional martial artists, self defense students, and fighters see things from the standpoint of "how to deal with this attack that he's throwing"...the Ninja's perspective starts in the mind of the opponent!

One of the keys to mastery is in learning what I call, "attacker mindset," or "attacker-thinking."

What that means is: knowing how a particular "attacker-type" thinks and sees combat. Because, "how" a person thinks, determines what he sees. And what a person "sees"- his view of reality - determines how he will act.

This is true of not only his beliefs, but also of his "expectations."

And that brings us to what I want to share with you today. A self defense strategy based on attacker logic - and expectations. This is the very basis of the Ninja's kyojitsu tenkan ho, "the art and science of disguising truth and falsehood!"

There are countless techniques - both within the Ninja's self defense system, and that of other martial arts - for responding to a situation where the attacker has seized your weapon. What I'm talking about is a situation where he grabs say, your hanbo (3' half-staff; cane weapon) and now you find yourself fighting over it.

But, instead of discussing the concepts of leverage, or taijutsu in the common context where you manipulate the weapon in such a way as to break his grip on it, or to tie him up...Today, I want to discuss a strategy that is so far outside the box that it is practically unheard of.

But first, before I tell you what it is, I want you to answer a simple question. The question is...What does an attacker "expect" when he grabs your weapon?" And "Why does he grab it in the first place?"

He grabs it to control it...to control you with it, and/or...to take it from you. Right?

Of course. And, what does he expect from you when he tries to do just that? He expects resistance. After all...do you want to lose your weapon or have it used against you?

Again...of course not!

But, what if there was a time - a space - between when he grabbed it, and when he could use it that, if you could catch that moment, he could literally take your weapon away from you and you'd be able to catch him and beat him? Would that be worth learning?

Well, it's a simple matter of..."Letting Go!"

That's right. As soon as he grabs your weapon - as he's expecting resistance to his attack...Immediately let go of your weapon!

The result will be that he will be surprised that he has it, that he will be off-balance - physically, mentally, and/or emotionally. And, he will be open to your own follow-up attack! Imagine - taking advantage of the attacker's own mental state and expectancy of one thing, so much that, when you give him what he wanted - your weapon - he's not ready to get it the way he does!

He expected resistance, so his body acted a certain way to provide the strength and power to meet that resistance. And, because you know his muscles will be doing that, you create a situation where his own body becomes an ally in your defense!

This is the same effect as when you go to pick up something that you think is really heavy, only to find that it is really very light. You started out with an expectation that caused you to overcompensate and when you lifted the object, it actually took you be surprise as it flew up suddenly from your effort.

THAT'S what we're doing to the attacker in that moment.

And, while he's busy trying to regain his balance, overcome his surprise that he actually has the weapon in his hand, AND...get his focus back onto you and what you're doing...

It's TOO LATE!
