OsCommerce to Magento Migration : OsCommerce to magento migration is very important concept for every e-commerce developer . Itis a new extension for DataFlow which enables importing your data from osCommerce into your website in Magento. To set up a profile, all Magento needs is information such as the IP/host of your osCommerce DB, user login and name of DB. Magento will take care of the rest. The data Magento supports is the default DB of osCommerce RC2 which includes customers, orders, categories and products in multiple languages.Actually I did

extensive googling but didn't find any good solution :( . So here we go :

1) Get extention key for Mage-Oscommerce from-http://www.magentocommerce.com/extension/specs/114/os-commerce-import

2) Install it Using Magento Connect and it is currently available in beta format so check your magento connect settings.

3) Now copy all your product images from oscommerce catalog to

your magento_root/media/import

4) Now go magento admin panel and select system->Import/export->oscommerce

5) Create a new profile and save it.

6) Now you can Run the import wizard after filling up the appropriate information about the export

7)After the commpletion of the import clear cache using system->cachemanagement

8)Now go to the bottom of your magento website select the your oscommerce import to preview it.

A tool for migrating your osCommerce site to Magento has been updated atMagento Connect. For those of us that our osCommerce users looking for other options, this is exciting stuff. The new version offers improvements in UTF8 conversion and product image importing.

** Some time the extension comes with a bug to remove it replace

"app/code/core/Mage/Oscommerce/Block/Adminhtml/Import/Run.php"

with Run.php file on given link:-

Here is instruction on how to import customers, orders, categories, products and images from OsCommerce to Magento.

1) Install osCommerce Migration Tool

2) Replace Run.php file with the latest version

3) Copy images

4) Create copy of the OsCommerce or ZenCart database, create Magento DB dump

5) Set up osCommerce (ZenCart) import profile in Magento

6) Run import profile

7) Refresh Magento Cache and view your osCommerce catalog in Magento!
