Fear is something that stops us from doing things all the times in our lives. Fear is also the reason why we don't just go in and rob a bank, jump from a tall building or do something else that seems stupid according to our beliefs and assumptions. However, fear doesn't always help us and there are times where fear actually hinders us and keeps us from taking action.
You have probably heard of the phrase false evidence appearing to be real and a lot of times this is exactly what dreading something is. An example of this is when males and females are afraid to approach a person from the opposite sex because they are afraid they will get rejected, this is totally illogical and stops these people from meeting new people in their lives. What you sometimes need to do is to look your fears right in the eyes and go through and take action in spite of them.
Only by doing this will you be able to reach some of your dreams and deepest wishes. We are all afraid of different things in our lives and you really need to start stepping out of your comfort zone and pushing yourself if you want to maximize your chances of reaching your goals. Every time you overcome your deepest enemies and things you were really afraid to do, you get a little bit stronger. Before you know it you will have become so desensitized that what you were originally too scared to do, will seem completely normal.
A great example of this is how scared of the dark we were when we were kids. Even though we are still not completely comfortable sitting in a dark room, the fear of darkness is not anywhere near as bad as it used to be.
The best thing you can do is to make a list of all the things that have held you back in the past. Write them in the sequence of how much they have constrained you and then start doing them one by one. Obviously you only want to overcome the ones that are legal and don't hurt other people. The cool thing is that you use the same "muscle" to overcome these things and when you do it once, it will be easier to do the next time. Make sure you push yourself and enjoy the benefits.
