First of all, have your self a party checklist. Do not even think about planning a party without sitting down and putting the time to make an organized, clear party check list. Your checklist will of course vary depending on the type of party you are preparing for. However, a general checklist should contain the names and contact numbers of all your suppliers for the party. Under each supplier name, write down the items that you will be needing from them or what things they will supply for your party. This way it will be easy for you to check if they have already fulfilled your requirements. You can also put in specific dates or timelines so that you can keep track of the schedule when items should arrive or certain tasks to be accomplished.

Next are your invitations. A good time for sending invitations for your party would be around 2-3 weeks in advance. Traditional written invitations are still a sure way to go, but you can also send invites thru e-mail or other social media sites. What matters is for you to send them out in advance so that your guests can also prepare their schedule and block-off the date in their calendar. Make sure to include a way for your guests to respond or confirm your invitation. You can instruct them to give a call for confirmation or send you a quick email as well. After you get confirmations, you should immediately write them down on your checklist so that you can keep track of the number of guests you will be having for the party.

Another important part of the party is the mood. Think how you plan to set the mood and setting the scene of the party. This is where decorations and music comes in. Imagine: a party without music is just not a party! So, choosing what songs play in your party is important because it will set the mood of your guests when they arrive and make the party even more interesting. Whatever music you end up choosing, just make sure that you have your CDs, or music files prepared and set up in one area of the house or venue. Make sure you have a good number of songs in your playlist, too.
