Here are a few tips that I found on the net that I wanted to share with everyone on how to save money if you are buying your engagement ring with together with your fiance. Not everyone gets to choose their own perfect engagement ring, but if you do, here are some tips I have found on the net and discovered myself as well. I found some of these tips at http://www.perfectengagementstory.com/mustknowengagementdiamonds.html
Tip #1
Try not to buy diamonds that are exactly or close to 1 carat in weight. Diamonds are priced higher in this carat weight because most guys are looking for a 1 carat diamond for their woman.
Tip #2
If you can't afford a VS clarity diamond without sacrificing colour, go with a diamond that is more colourless. You can look for a SI clarity diamond that has inclusions or flaws that can be hidden by the setting or have flaws at the bottom of the diamond.
Tip #3
Platinum is the most expensive metal for the setting, but gold is just as good most of the time. Just remember to choose white gold that is palladium coated for durability.
Tip #4
If the appearance of size is really important and you are on a tight budget, the round brilliant cut has the least amount of diamond wasted during the cutting process. A round brilliant is a very classical and timeless choice.
Tip #5
Having a 3 stone setting setting ring can make your center diamond appear larger. The smaller the pairing diamonds or crushed diamonds or, the larger the center diamond will appear. Using crushed diamonds to surround the center diamond will also have the same effect.
