Community healthcare is in the field of public health. It is basically concerned with betterment and study of biological communities' health characteristics. It does not focus on people with shared characteristics but rather with geographical areas which is used to examine the communities health characteristics by providing healthcare services to them some of whom cannot afford proper healthcare, and have no medical insurance. Providing community healthcare care is very involving as the healthcare providers normally have to visit people in their homes as some are too weak to visit health clinics. Some of the tasks involved include testing blood pressure, blood sugar, healthy living teaching, dealing with cardiovascular disease and prevention.

Community healthcare course has been an eye-opener for me and has helped me change my perspective on community healthcare nursing. It has taught me so much about providing healthcare. I have learnt that without community healthcare provision, most people would suffer and die silently but community healthcare reaches out to many people even those who cannot afford regular medical checkups or medication as community healthcare offers care free or at reduced prices.

Community healthcare nursing has several course objectives and personal objectives, which have to be met in both didatic and clinical setting. One of the objectives of this course is specialty roles of the nurse in regard to the unique health related needs of individuals who have exceptional health-related needs by preventing illness, improving and maintaining a level of wellness is monitoring health, and deviation detecting of health status in families, individuals, communities, and certain population groups by visiting them, using scientific, systematic, and methods and tools which are reliable and valid. One of the personal learning objectives is applying the principle of accountability, leadership, case management and self-direction in providing the required needs of clients in the whole community (Mahmoud abo el atta ,2008). Didatically, the intention is to teach or educate individuals with unique related health issues on how to take care of themselves, how to take medicine , eat according to diets prescribed to them. This is done by being directly involved with them which makes it easier to offer guidelines and self direction, that is the pro and corns of living healthy with their conditions. Achieving personal objectives and achieving clinical objectives have to go hand in hand. I have to offer leadership to the people as individuals do a case study of each of them so as to offer right advice to them on how to live healthy. Clinically the providers of health care have to take account of how the patients fair on by frequently visiting, monitoring, and using valid tools such as blood sugar and blood pressure test kits. Through the above, a community healthcare worker can keep a detailed record of a patient and know if progress is being achieved and what measures to take if no progress. Provision of required medication and offering counseling is also a prerequisite as it offers direction and motivation (mahmoud abo el atta, 2008).

Community healthcare nursing course has stimulated an urge in me to become a professional volunteer community healthcare provider nurse. I will tend to the needs of the people back in the community especially ones with cardiovascular disease as they seem to be suffering most. The first thing will be training the cardiovascular patients on how to live healthily with their conditions.
