As you do research into how to succeed in business you probably come across the term, positive mental attitude and wondered what it is and where do you get it. Is it at the office supply store? Perhaps you can borrow one just to get started. After all you want success and if this will get you there you must have this ingredient to add to your proverbial pot.

As Attraction Marketers it is very important for us to be able to tap into not just the best marketing tools available but also into the energy of the world around us. If we are grounded and at peace with ourselves and our business everything we want, need, and desire will be attracted to us as if we had a magnetic field around us. Positive mental attitude (PMA) helps us to clear negative energy from our thoughts and leaves openings to everything that is possible. This is actually a concept that was discussed in writing around 100 years ago and has been attributed by many business experts such as Napoleon Hill, etc. to be the very core of a successful business person. It is not something you can get as much as it is something inside you that must check on and acknowledge every day. You might even say that PMA is a state of being or spiritual in nature, just as Deepak Chopra explains in his book, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.

In this book the first step or law that Chopra describes is the Law of Pure Potentiality. This is our essential nature free of ego, judgment, and fear, what some might call our soul. This state of pure potentiality is the experience of the self, or self-referral and is based on the purest essence of ourselves. What we are outside of the trappings of the things we have or want, how we think of ourselves or how others perceive us.

The opposite of this is object-referral something we are a bit more familiar with. This is the experience outside of our self, the need for approval and acceptance, the need to control things and for external power. These things come from our ego, our social mask and how we want to be seen by others, this is always based in fear. When we uncover our true self we find that we are immune to criticism, unafraid of any challenge, and on equal footing with those around us. We feel humble yet secure in who we are. When marketers talk about posture this is where you should come from. Not that you have more or are better than someone else. Just that you are not afraid, all people are equal, and that you come from a place of service to others. This internal power attracts others on a very basic level and gives you the ability to bond with them as you come from a place of true love and appreciation for others and positive mental attitude is how you get there.

How can you access the power of pure potentiality? Chopra recommends stillness and quiet, the kind of peace you might find in a deep meditation. He calls it practicing stillness and suggests that this is done on a daily basis. Turn off all distractions and just sit in silent meditation or find a place out in nature to soak in your connection with everything. Also, practicing non-judgment creates silence in your mind. As you gain access to your true nature you will find all you desire unfolding at your feet because affluence of the universe is expressed in the creative mind of nature.

Part of developing a Positive Mental Attitude is turning from the chaos and noise of your mind and focusing instead on the stillness and quietness of your own basic nature. Knowing that you are perfect and connecting to the perfectness within others reminds you that there is nothing to fear, criticism cannot hurt you, and that everyone is equal. If you can tap into your self-power you will, through a positive mental attitude attract others to you and result in a business as well as a life of abundance.
