It may be confusing whether to place your child into preschool or not
. When it comes to your decision about preschoolling you may get a lot of different opinions from a lot of different people. You will also find out just how passionate people are on this subject.
As much as you are on the fence about the issue you will have others on either side of it. Not only are they on their side, they are dug in on the issue. Many will tell you if you do not put your child in preschool as they will be behind in primary school and you are not being a good parent.
Others argue in the opposite end of the spectrum that they would like their child to be able to be a child for as long as possible. Putting them in school before the average age of five is a waste of time and they should be allowed to play and be at home. They may feel that pushing a child to over achieve is putting too much stress on them when they should be allowed to be creative and imaginative.
There is not a right or wrong answer when it comes to this great debate. Personal preference reigns when the issue is brought up. Some families do not have the option of arguing as both parents work and putting their children in preschool is a means of having day-care for part of the day. There are extended preschools that meet these demands with extended hours after school time has finished.
Preschool can teach socialization to a child who does not have that experience outside of the home. For this child it is a good idea for him or her to interact with their peers and learn behavioral skills. A child can also enjoy this time and look forward to seeing their friends in a fun learning environment.
However, some children may interact with other children in other environments such as a church program or they may have several friends. In this case they are already learning behaviors and will be fine when it comes to behavior and expectations in a school setting. Many of these children also do educational things at home and are just as educated from home base.
The debate of preschoolling will rage on, as people stay committed to their opinions. However, you should not let someone sway you into a situation that you do not want to be in. As a parent it is your ultimate decision whether you place your child into a preschool environment or not.
