Digital scrapbooking is becoming ever more popular, largely due to the fact that our photos are generally kept on our computers these days, as opposed to being developed and stored in boxes. However, for those reluctant to give up their traditional scrapbooking in favour of digital scrapbooking, the reason is often that you "simply can't beat," the real thing. Of course, an answer to that is to print out the digital scrapbooks that you create on your computer, thus ensuring you have a hard copy. But is it really the same?

The first thing to consider is the fact that the design is up to you. Most digital scrapbooking software packages come with a massive amount of flexibility in terms of enabling you to customise the design. You could even make it look like more of a traditional scrapbook if you wanted to. You can customise the template to incorporate decorate text, backgrounds, borders and all manner of page elements. But what about the printed product? Will it look right?

The first thing to make sure is that your digital photos are of high quality. No matter who prints it, if the digital pictures aren't high quality, then they will not look good on the printed page! If you do have high quality images, does this make for a perfect printed scrapbook?

Well, if you have a high quality printer at home, you will certainly get the picture quality you need to make a digital scrapbook look great in its hard copy form. But what if you don't?
