Private Christian Schools Offer Top Educational Opportunities
It is difficult not to wonder about the condition of the public educational system
when you know that it has never received more funding than it does now. Nevertheless, the quality of education has yet to improve. For instance, in 1930 they had a literacy rate of almost 90%, and they spent $876 making that happen. Just 70 years down the line, $7,000 is spent on a single child. One would expect that the literacy rate would be just as high as it was in the 1930s, but in reality, it was as low as 50% in some schools. Something is clearly very wrong with the public education system.
It is news like this that convinces many parents to choose to send their child to one of the many private schools in the country. Lets face it; we need to ensure that our child has every advantage possible so as to be able to succeed. As far as Catholics go, Catholic schools offer excellent educational opportunities. Along with a sound education, private schools like these also offer valuable opportunities to their students. Many are connected with top colleges, including Ivy League ones, thereby acting as stepping-stones for their students after graduating.
While it is true that tuition fees are high in private schools, perspective must be maintained. Catholic schools charge as much as $6,000 per child for a year. Compared with the $7,000 spent by a public school, what you pay for a better education and further opportunities, is actually less.
The public schooling system has been in dire straights for more than four decades. A lot of folks now feel that the time has come to call it quits. Most feel that the public school system is simply ill-equipped to handle sound education needs. Naturally, we want the best for our children.
It's unsurprising that for many people there is not much hope left for the public educational system. Although private school fees are more expensive for you, the parent, there are some options you might want to investigate. Catholic families would do well to approach Catholic schools in the area. They invariably have some kind of financial assistance or advice available. What you need to understand is that, if you need financial aid, it can be found. Discover more about what kind of help is available to you. Discussing this with the schools you are looking at will certainly yield results.
There are some public schools in our country that we can be proud of. Many are staffed by exceptionally dedicated individuals who seek to provide each child with a quality education. Unfortunately, for many, this is frustratingly impossible due to lack of funds and so on. Ultimately, the students suffer.
