For a Project manager it is very much essential to keep good relation with the customers. And for this a PM should communicate frequently with his customers and He should communicate in a very clear manner. Communication is one of the most important parts in PMI training. A PM should more careful about communication because this is the only part where most of the PM falls down.
Every customer expects to be kept up to date on projects from the start to the end. Communicating with your customer from start to end is very much essential for the customer's success and also to your personal success. How to manage communication is most important for a project manager.
Communication is nothing but interchanging the information between two parties. A PM spends almost 90% of his time on communicating with others like project management team, senior management, stakeholder etc. communication is also important for a PM to plan the strategies for his project as well.
Basically two modes of communication are there such as verbal and written. Both of these modes of communications can be done in two ways one is formal and the other one is informal way. So there are 4 methods of communication:
Formal Verbal- this method of communication is used for communicating plan, charter and communicating for long distance.
FormalWritten- this method mostly used for presentation.
Informal Verbal-While communicating through Emails and notes this method of communication is used.
Informal Written-For general conversation we use this method.
