Promoting girls education in India

India is one such country where you can find different types of people and culture

. Along with that another thing will catch your eyes and that is the financial condition. Nearly 40 % of the people in India live below the poverty line and that is quite a big crisis. This is quite tough for the government every corner of such a huge country to provide all the help. That is why the NGOs are creating a lot of welfare programs for the rural people so that they can find little bit of comfort in their life. Most of the girl children in these areas are not literate. Girl child education has always been a big problem in India and government has tried a lot but nothing ever worked. That is why various NGOs in India are now trying to introduce a lot of programs so that the girls can get educated in the rural areas.

Lack of education is causing a lot of troubles. In many areas they think that girl child is a curse and they are nothing but a burden. In some of the areas the parents do not earn much and let their minor girl to marry so that one family member gets reduced from their family. That is why the NGOs are providing free education to the girls so that they can get the education there. If they can do better they can continue further by getting scholarships. The NGOs will then arrange everything so that these children can continue their studies further. However, many families are still against educating their girls. In many parts of India thousands of prejudices are there. The NGOs are fighting really hard to educate them. The responses are coming but to make these schemes successful and to make India a better country more people need to take interest and to send their girls to take the education.

Families that have one girl child will be eligible to get rs.500/- per month for the education of the child. After that there are courses and scholarships for graduation and post-graduation degree. These programs are really great and the government is also introducing a lot of new programs. However they cannot reach all the areas and the NGOs are working for them. The whole process is pretty transparent so that everyone can understand the whole thing. More than 10,000 students will get the benefits every year and that is surely a great news for the girls in rural areas.

There are more than 500 scholarships in CBSE board and couple of UGC implemented courses are there in the graduation and post graduations. More courses and scholarships will be introduced soon. Once the people start responding to these schemes even more many other schemes will be offered to them. The initial inhibition about educating the girl child needs to be removed from their mind. These students will be able to get scholarships for degrees like medical and engineering if they can perform well.
