SecondSchool Launches Partner Program

This week SecondSchool launched its Partner Program in Delhi and Gurgaon to select 15 Model Centers

. The Event was held at the PHD Chamber of Commerce on the 21st and Epicentre on the 22nd of August. The program was attended by more than 100 potential partners.

Speaking on the occasion, Ashish Basu, CEO SecondSchool said "We believe that children develop a fear or love for a subject like Maths while they are in Middle School. Our program ensures that students understand the subject, enjoy it and also obtain better marks"

SecondSchool has been set up by alumni of IIM Bangalore to meet the needs of after school mathematics and science. SecondSchool provides a unique after-school learning environment for children where there is an emphasis on both building concepts as well as doing extensive practice. Class sizes are kept small to ensure that there is enough room for individual attention while providing for adequate group interaction.

The Model Centres set up by partners of SecondSchool will commence operations from October 2010. Explaining this, Ciby James, COO SecondSchool said "The Model Centre concept has been introduced to provide the highest level of quality to our students. These centres will always be the benchmarks for other centres to follow".

Each student of SecondSchool will be provided with an Activity Kit, a Quick Guide and a Practice Book. These materials are fully mapped to the CBSE syllabus and are at present targeting classes 6 to 9. Classes will be for approx 3 hours a week, with additional time being allotted to students who may need additional support to learn a particular concept.

On completion of every chapter there will be an assessment that will determine the remediation requirement for the student. Results from these assessments are retained to monitor progress as well as see how a student is doing on a percentile basis. Regular reports are sent to students and parents followed by meetings to discuss specific improvement areas.

SecondSchool Model Partners will teach using slides provided by SecondSchool that will be projected on a large screen in each classroom. "We will provide extensive marketing and sales support to our partners to help them get started in Gurgaon and Delhi. After that, we expect that positive feedback from our program will bring us new students" said Samir Bhattacharjee, VP Sales and Channel Development, SecondSchool.
