You really are not able to get anything accomplished if you don't have clear communication

. How else are you going to express your ideas and what needs to get done? If there is confusion in passing along the information, then there is no reason to pass it on in the first place, and in the end, creating more confusion from miscommunication ends up being a huge waste of time and resources.

Time and resources are the two things that nobody has enough of and if you waste them, then you are just making your job even harder than it already is. There's also a good chance that you'll go ahead and put yourself out of organization if you keep it up. But having open and clear communication is the first step in running an efficient and well run business.

This communication is not only limited to the workers and their immediate supervisors, but between all of the different departments and even the various facilities around the country and world. It happens all the time where one facility does a process one way, has success and does not share their findings with the rest of the business. Why wouldn't they want to share their success with everybody else? One of the biggest problems with not sharing this information is the fact that the very ones that you're trying to share it with are resistant to the ideas.

Why is it that when somebody from the outside tries to share a new idea or show a new way of doing something, there is always resistance from the other party? It's almost as if it isn't an internal idea, then it isn't ever going to get accepted by the local people working at that particular facility. Everybody should want to at least look at the ideas to see if they are worth making a change for. But dismissing it out of hand, not looking at the merits and not looking at the benefits doesn't help anybody.


But you have to be able to communicate why the new process works and why the new ideas are beneficial in a clear and concise manner. If you explain it clearly, then you will have a better opportunity for the changes to actually be adopted and they may have a chance of sticking. It takes a while for changes to become permanent, so you don't want any backsliding early on.
