Pure Silk Ties - Why Are They Different In Prices?
Silk neckties are usually the first choice when it comes to necktie fabric choice
. They are long lasting, best in quality, they give good effect to colors and patterns, they drape well and relatively wrinkle resistant.
Most neckties are labeled "made from 100% silk" these days, no matter what department stores, retail stores or online ties shops you are shopping at. The weird thing is, assuming the labels don't lie, they are not remotely in the same price range.
There are pure silk neckties lower than $10 a piece; the average tagged at around $30 to $70 each while some others come at more than $70 each. How can this be? If they are all made of the same high quality fabric, what is up with the different price range? Read on to find the reasons.
One of the main reasons in this difference in price is the technique of color dying used in the manufacturing of these ties. What technique is used in producing this particular necktie? In the industry, there are necessarily two silk tie dying techniques: the yarn dying technique and the printing.
Yarn dyed technique, also known as colored woven, basically means the yarns of silks are dyed or colored before they are woven into fabric. The printing technique clearly means the coloring takes place when the fabric is already woven.
It takes an expensive necktie equipment to weave colored yarns into good quality yarn dyed neckties. The printed silk ties have no need for such an equipment and that is why the price of printed silk ties are necessarily lower than the dyed yarn ones.
Don't go dismissing the yarn dyed necktie so quickly simply because they are too expensive for your budget. The yarn dyed tie come with brighter colors, which also last longer than those of printed neckties. The patterns on yarn dyed ones also look more vivid as well as having a real 3D effect. If you choose wrongly, some patterns on printed silk ties can end up looking superficial.
So it should be quite clear now what the story is behind every silk ties in different price ranges. Neckties made from 100% silk in the price near $10 and below means they are made from printed fabric, except if the ties fall into the range because of a big sale.
$30 to $70 is the normal price range for handmade silk ties of dyed yarn in the market these days. What makes some of them $30 and some of them $70 is usually the store brand, store location or the silk ties' brands themselves.
The 100% silk fabric clothing items of over $70 are those of luxury brands and you are welcome to buy them if you are a big fan of the brand(s).
Is it possible to find high quality dyed yarn neck-ties for under $70? Indeed it is. Online shopping stores have great collections available and you can browse in a more relaxed environment, your own bedroom if it comes to it.
