"Whenever anyone tries to set up any kind of industry in Uttar Pradesh, he is approached by the criminals and musclemen of the area and are threatened to pay them. Looking at this problem the industrialist runs away to other state," said Rahul Gandhi speaking at a public meeting at Aonla.

He further lashed out at the state government for the under development of the state. The political parties who ruled the state in the last fifteen years are responsible for the under development and backwardness of the state, he added.

"Your governments tied your hands and never helped you develop. They kept promising you and never fulfilled even a bit of it. They will come once again and try to woo you, but don't listen to them," he further added.

Before reaching Aonla Rahul Gandhi was on his road show in Puvayan. As soon as Mr Gandhi reached Puvayan, supporters of started sloganeering in his support.

Manoj Tripathi, who came all the way from his village, 25-kilometres from Puvayan to see Mr Gandhi, said "We are Congress supporters since decades, specially the Gandhi family. No one has worked for India like the Gandhis. We are quite hopeful of Rahul Gandhi".

In Puvayan Rahul Gandhi visited Raja Market, Chauraha Bazar and Puvayan Inter College.

"We wanted him to come here. He came to such a small area, we are really happy," said Shailesh, a resident of Puvayan.

Before coming to Puvayan, Mr Gandhi was in Jalalabad. What was remarkable at Jalalabad was the presence of the young generation in large numbers. Throughout the route, which Rahul Gandhi took for his road show---Yusuf Jahi, Muhhala Kheda, Barapathhar, Yakoopur Chauraha, Jalalabad Main Chauraha, Kakori Shahid Inter College---young people were standing on both sides of the roads to welcome the leader.

"He is a fresh face and he thinks in a new way. Our hopes are pinned with him. We believe that he will do some good work. He has shown his capability by working in Amethi and adjoining areas. He has not only worked on education but has also emphasized on development of all," said a young Ramesh Singh in Jalalabad.

"The presence of large number of youth is in itself an indicator of the change which is bound to take place. He is young and thus he is getting the support of the youth apart from other sections of the society. We are connecting with him easily looking at the simplistic attitude, he is quite different from other leaders," said Shahid of Jalalabad.

"You vote for the Congress candidate and we promise you that we will work for your development. I will keep coming to you even after the elections, it's a long drawn process and I will not go back on my words," said Rahul Gandhi while campaigning for the Congress candidate in Tilhar.

Tilhar was the first destination of the day for the Congress MP, where he continued with his road show.

Clad in a white kurta payjama, Mr Gandhi was accompanied by fellow MP Jitin Prasad. Sitting atop the vehicle he waved to the crowds who went ecstatic when they saw My Gandhi amongst them.

Mr Gandhi responded quite positively to the sloganeering and cheering crowds by mingling with them and sharing words. Like other destinations of his, he was showered with rose petals wherever he went in Tilhar.
