Mr. Obama's budget director, Peter Orszag, told Congress that "Those price increases are essential to the success of a cap-and-trade program." But, he didnt tell them that those who will be hardest hit, will be about 95% of working families. This "tax" is also going to be regressive since these families normally spend a larger portion of their income on energy, such as transportation to and from work, heating their residences, and also food for their families, than the rest of the population.
As long as the current congress is in charge, this cap and trade bill is as inevitable as death and taxes. So, everyone had better get themselves prepared for a gigantic increase in our very basic cost of living, thanks to our political climate that is going to last at least through 2010, which gives them plenty of time to git-er-done
Seeing as how the passage of some sort of cap and trade is all but done, within 12 months of its passage, you can expect your total energy expenses to increase by at least 400% per month.
