Though many achievements are now made in vision rebuilding

, there are still some rooms to be improved. This is particularly obvious in treating retinal problems, which can now be treated with certain vision surgeries, namely, subretinal and epiretianl implant. These implanting procedures have really helped a lot of people in regaining their vision, but there are still some problems on these technologies.

As one of the most delicate eye tissues, retina is vulnerable to various sorts of eye problems. This is because retina consists of very complex structure and nerves. Every part should co-work perfectly, so as to see clearly of anything. And if there is problem in any one of them, vision diseases of certain kinds will appear.

Usually, people may get different retina-related vision problems if there is anything wrong with this organ, like AMD, retinitis pigmentosa, etc. These problems can usually lead to serious vision damage or blindness sometimes.

Luckily, all these problems can be resolved in certain ways- some effective implants are now available in the field. These methods are the latest results in the field, but there are still some hurdles in these procedures. Every step in the procedure is in need of meticulous calculation and may lead to risk of some sortt. In particular, how to deal with retinal pressure is one of the greatest challenges.

Challenges are here and new researches should be carried out, too. There are now a national project particularly for retina and related procedures- Boston Project. Some great achievements are made in this project, in aspect of treating permanent blindness caused by retinal problems. It aims at revitalizing the functionality of every part in cornea. Some experiences on animals and human beings have showed ideal results.

The corneal implants see a promising and bright future, though there is a long way to go. More and more achievements are now made in the field and have brought patients perfect vision again. In particular, the cases that some permanently blind people have rebuilt their vision again have given patients and specialists more confidence.
