For someone who is planning to move to U.S permanently, a lawful permanent resident card is the necessary step.

Rights as a Green Card Holder are:

Can live and work in US until person commit any action that make you removable under immigration law

You must obey the democratic form of government laws

You must file and submit your income tax to the US tax authorities

Once you are a Green Card holder must support US Government and shouldnt change the government illegally

Registration with Section Service is compulsory if you are male between the age limit of 18 to 25

Lawful Permanent residents are free to travel outside the United State temporarily with no much affect on the permanent resident status. If it crosses more than 180 days then person must apply for re-entry to the United State.

Being a Green Card holder can start up business like any other US Citizenship but those who are a H1B Visa holder permitted to work for a specific employer in US.

Green Card holder doesnt have the privilege to vote in the elections like federal elections, state elections or local elections. Even if any change in the address you need to inform USCIS within 10 days of your changing address. If they fail to do so then they may lose their residence rights. And also Green Card holders can petition for limited family members to join them in US.

So these issues can resolved easily if you are a US Citizenship and green card holders should wait for some years to become U.S Citizenship through Naturalization. .If you want to stay for longer periods its better to remove the continuously residency requirement to become a US Citizen so that can stay outside the United State without any restriction.

U.S Citizenship is the highest status someone can get in US under immigration law, which means that he/she gets the rights to live permanently in the US until you get involved in fraud case.

So U.S Citizenship has the rights to vote in federal elections, and can petition for a list of family members to stay with them in US.
