Have you had the thought to save your marriage before it starts? Honestly, this is possible. Your marriage will start the day you say "I do." Standing with your partner, saying those words may seem so easy. But marriage is a partnership, and the same as any other partnership, it has to be worked at for it to succeed.
Saving your marriage before it starts may seem a strange idea, but it's a powerful approach. You have nurture love to keep it alive. Think of it as a fire; without fuel, it will go out and lead to a marriage breakup.
Before getting married, each of you should know your differences and similarities and respect them. It's also important to recognize each others' strengths and weaknesses and accept them. Marriage is not easy. Suddenly you are with the same person all the time. You will have financial, mental, physical and spiritual problems. Time is a great healer but so many couples aren't prepared to put in that time. To avoid this sad reality I've come up with some ideas on how to save your marriage before it starts.
Communication is probably the most important . You must really listen to what your partner has to say and not dismiss it. Don't jump ahead in your mind to work out the solutions before they have even finished telling you what they are thinking. Listen not only with your head, but also with your heart.
Sometimes, your partner doesn't need you to solve the problem. But just to listen, give them a hug and tell them you are sorry they are going through a difficult time. A partners' job is a prime example of this. As the saying goes, a problem shared is a problem halved and will go towards strengthening your marriage.
Try to always be positive. When you both first met, you were focused on what you liked about each other. It becomes so easy to forget these qualities and take them for granted. Later in your marriage, you can fall into just seeing what is annoying about each other.
Stop nagging. It's irritating and never makes the partner change to positive behavior. They just become resistant to it and eventually feel anger, indifference or even hurt. There are ways of getting your point over in a kind way. These will produce much better results.
Always try to be positive toward each other. Remember, no one is perfect.
Make time for "special time" together. Go out for dinner or even just a walk so that you can relax and talk together. It doesn't even have to be that planned. Choose a time in the home every day when you sit together with a glass of wine, or cup of coffee, and talk the day over.
Don't fall into the trap of every time you have a chance to talk, you find yourselves talking about problems. Chat also about nice happenings in your day.
Marriage Intimacy is so important. That sexual attraction you had together when you met must be kept alive. It's not just the sex. Find time to just sit for a cuddle. Give each other a kiss when you are around each other. Share both and give each other a massage. Intimacy is emotion, touch, sharing space and sex.
